A retired homeowner, this client sought out Rineer Designs with a Japanese-style inspired vision for her home. Having relocated from a contemporary Californian home to this colonial in PA, she wanted to infuse soft, contemporary style with Japanese-inspired elements.
We were tasked with transforming this home by reimagining entirely its colonial bones. We set out to redesign the laundry room, expand the kitchen, living area, primary bath, and guest bathroom as well as provide flooring and paint updates throughout the home.
We took great care to redesign a neutral, bright, clean space that flowed seamlessly. The redesign of the kitchen provides a peaceful and organized space to cook. The outdated style was meticulously replaced with a modern, contemporary feel that uplifts and inspires.
“I had the great pleasure to work with Heather Rineer Design [and her team] renovating my 2008 builder’s grade condominium. In particular, I needed to update the kitchen, two full bathrooms, and a powder room. I needed these spaces changed to age safely. Heather understood my taste and preferences after seeing my furnishings and a magazine article highlighting the kitchen cabinets I liked. She always gave me three choices and soon, she knew which one I would select but she always asked me first. Heather had all the resources. Her architectural drawings were professional, the sources were reliable, the timeline was perfect, and the installation was completely flawless.
Before the renovation, my movers put everything into closets, I moved out to live with my brother and I even underwent a major surgery. Heather wanted me to take care of myself not worry about the work inside my condo. That was her job. I was welcome to stop by anytime and ask questions. I was treated respectfully and warmly welcomed when I did stop by to see the progress and pick up the mail.
Heather added some beautiful surprises such as a unique stairway post and railing design which begins in the foyer and always receives compliments from visitors, a new gas fireplace design to highlight the height of the ceilings, beautiful lighting throughout and spectacular task lighting in the kitchen. The full bathrooms are not only beautiful, but completely safe and accessible for me as I age.
Every floor-to-ceiling detail throughout the condo was well thought out as I transitioned from one space to another. I was very lucky to find Heather. I knew one of her colleagues who suggested Heather when I described the scope of the changes I needed.
Before I end, I wish to add this personal story. Heather Rineer [and her team] helped my brother and I refresh the small 1920-era Cemetery Mausoleum where my parents’ ashes reside in their combined niche. This refresh was our gift of love for our parents, for all the families who visit their loved ones there, and to this very special Cemetery which has served families since 1886. The families who have subsequently visited this quaint Mausoleum have all complimented the warm and welcoming changes. I find more parents and children visit frequently now leaving cards, a stuffed toy, and flowers. Families now hold their Memorials inside this little charming Mausoleum. Thanks to Heather, this little gem came back to life for at least another 100 years.
