Referred to us by a commercial interior design colleague, this professional and intelligent family sought an open kitchen with increased storage and functionality. They loved the industrial, modern look and brought Rineer Designs in to renovate the kitchen with character and warmth and creatively reimagine the dining room.
The original kitchen was dark and small. Our mission was to open up the kitchen and dining room, incorporate more storage, and create a space the entire family could work and function in without tripping over each other. They also wanted a living space in their breezeway to increase curb appeal and with our renowned attention to detail for cohesion and flow.
In removing a wall to open up the kitchen, We had to install the steel beam for structural support and chose to keep it exposed because we loved the industrial feel. We coordinated its edgy black with cabinetry and lighting. To increase the storage, we added a banquette, beverage refrigerator, and a unique zig-zag island precisely measured and installed.
