Historical One-Story Structures
Many homes designed in early Lancaster were small, one-story structures -ideal for working-class residents. Though often overlooked, these houses reflect the city’s architectural roots and are unique survivors of Lancaster’s past. The Heart of Amish Country
Settled in the 1720s, Lancaster is one of the oldest inland cities in the U.S. It was the capital of PA from 1799-1812. Lancaster County is renowned for being home to the Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch Country. The oldest continuously operating public farmers’ market in the U.S., offering fresh produce, baked goods, and regional specialties. Known for lively farmer’s markets, Lancaster’s Central Market has been continuously operating longer than any other in the US.

A personal favorite of our Rineer Designs team (Heather Rineer met her husband here!), the Castle Roller Skating Rink is a family-oriented skating facility in Lancaster, PA where there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Culture is woven into the social fabric here.
